DAY 5
On our fifth day in London we walked around the city.
We went to the Queen's Walk and walked on the bank of the Thames.
While walking we a a huge furniture set made out of astroturf!
Who knew there was a beach and a pier in downtown London?!
We also walked across Millennium Bridge and went to St. Paul's Cathedral
and ate our lunch there.
We also went to the Tower of London and saw a bunch of crazy stuff!
We saw dungeons and torture chambers, old zoos and the ravens.
Tower of London was the living place of past rulers.
It is also home to the Crowned Jewels! They are kept in a dark room, with
spotlights, surrounded by glass, and the visitors stand on a moving sidewalk.
They were all so gorgeous! I would love to have even one of the jewels!
Soldiers from the Queen's Guard guard the entrance.
Emily and I finished the tour early and ran into some soldiers
outside, so we had to get a picture with him! He wasn't
too happy about tourists asking to take pictures with him! The
other soldiers were much friendlier, but were busy with other tourists..
Right outside the grounds of the Tower of London is Tower Bridge!
We walked across the bridge and under the connecting piece of the
bridge is where the olympic rings with hang during the Olympics!
Later that day we went to Leicester Square!
This is where they hold all of the movie premiers and where
the shows like Les Miserables and Wicked are shown!
PARIS: DAY 6 & 7
On Wednesday we woke up at 4 and hopped on the Eurostar to Paris!
Paris has such crazy/ fearless drivers! Traffic was insane!
For most of our first day in Paris we walked or
rode our double-decker tour bus around the city!
The bus took us around to all of the most popular sites in the city!

Near the Eiffel Tower we found a food cart that sold crepes!
I had a Nutella crepe and it was delicious!
We bought tickets to climb to the second level of the Eiffel Tower.
And let me tell you it was quite the hike! 669 steps! But the view
was so worth it!
That night we took a river tour on the Seine River!
Shmem and Rach were a little tuckered out!
The sun doesn't set until 10 pm in paris and it doesn't
get dark until around 11! We walked around the city until
it was dark enough for the Eiffel Tower light show to start!
We found a spot on the lawn and got comfortable for the light show.
The next morning we were going to try and hit Notre Dame
and a bunch of museums! Right after we got of the boat to go to
Notre Dame we found a street vender that sounds original paintings
that were so beautiful! So we bought 5! As soon as we walked
away it started to rain and when it rains, it POURS!!!
We were completely soaked, even with umbrellas!
We took refuge in Notre Dame and were there about 1.5 hours!
While we dried off and waited for the rain to stop I walked around
the church and took pictures! It is gorgeous! This is one of my favorites!
When the rain stopped we headed towards the Louvre.
On the way there we stopped at this bridge! People puts locks
on this bridge and throw the key into the river. The locks
usually have the names of a couple and the date of the anniversary!
It was so cute! They do this all over Europe!

The rain washed out our whole plan for the day
We didn't have any time to go to any of the museums,
because we had to get back to the station to catch our train
to London! On the way back to the station we stopped and got a few more
crepes! This time I got Nutella with ice cream! Oh my gosh, it was so so good!
This is a small picture, but this is the French countryside
from the train!
Overall France was not my favorite stop on the trip,
it was dirty and smoggy and we all woke up sick..
England is definitely better!
