Remember in Cheaper by the Dozen when the whole fam gets together
to play the beloved family tradition of Apple Shmear? Well Tine's brother Sethly has
an apple orchard in his backyard and so we used all the fallen, rotten apples to play ourselves
a little game of Apple Shmear!
The other day a bunch of us girls got dates and went over to
Tine's house and started smashing apples with bats and tennis rackets!

Below picture is Alice dominating the apples with her racket!
I have ZERO hand-eye coordination and could not hit the apple with the bat to save my life,
so I used the tennis racket! Bigger surface area to hit the apples with in my opinion!
The one bad thing about the tennis racket was that sometimes the apples got stuck!
By the end of the 8 buckets of apples we were all sticky and slimy and covered
with apple chunks! Then we went inside and tried to clean off. While dinner was cooking we
play Pounce or as everyone else calls it Nerts. My team dominated! :) And for dessert we
topped dinner off with Grasshoppers (Thin Mint Cookies) and hot chocolate, delicious!
It was a blast! I hope it stays a little warm so we can do it again!
